AUDITION MASTER CLASS
Adults & Teen 14+
June 8
10:00AM-2:00 PM
Tuition: $35
Do you love performing or the thought of performing in shows but hate to audition? Most people do and you're not alone! The Audition Master Class is designed to benefit actors with little or lots of experience. The audition process is so much more than memorizing a monologue or a song. The one day workshop will give you more confidence and practice with monologues, cold readings, and what a director may be looking for from you during the audition process. You will not only work on audition pieces, but we will explore the right mindset for entering the audition room to help ease your nerves. As a masterclass, the workshop will be part audition simulation and part discussion, the entire class will learn by performing, watching others perform, and receiving feedback.
Class is open to 14 - through adults but parents, be aware that monologue content might contain adult themes.
No prior experience or preparation is required, however, students are welcome and encouraged to have a monologue memorized. Students arriving with a memorized selection will get extra time in front of the class to have their work reviewed and receive feedback.
Dress comfortably and come prepared to participate.

MUSICAL THEATRE CHOREOGRAPHY EXPLORATION I
Ages 8-13
May 4
11:00AM-2:00PM
Tuition: $25
Musical Theatre Choreography draws from a variety of styles. While many musicals usually use "jazz" based choreography, Broadway shows throughout the years draw from everything from ballet and tap, to hip hop and modern dance styles. This workshop is perfect for both those who are new to dance and for those students that already have dance experience. The workshop will begin with a warm up (including stretches, isolations, and core strengthening) followed by floor work and choreography. We will touch on different kinds of dance vocabulary and beginners can learn different steps while more advanced students work on refining skills. Students will then get practice learning a dance combination the same way we teach them at auditions and in rehearsals. This workshop is a fun way to get practice engaging in dance and choreography for the theatre. Dance training is important for actors and consistent classes and practice are the only good way to build technique in the long run. Our workshops are a great chance to keep engaged with theatrical dance and try new things, gaining experience along the way.
The two sections of this class will be run the same way but with different choreography and continual refinement of skills based on the participants. You do not need to take one class to take the other and all are welcome at both!
