Keeping our Cast Safe
Several measures were taken to keep our cast and production team safe.
***DISCLAIMER: Upstage does not claim and particular medical expertise or knowledge. Several medical professionals and our town health officer were consulted on our policies. We live in a time when the data is constantly changing, along with recommended guidelines and policies. At the time of this rehearsal process and production, our policies followed these guidelines combined with available medical opinion from trained experts. ***

- Over several weeks our performers worked together in mixed small groups until they were acclimated to each other and quarantined into one family of 15.
- We did a mix of online, in person separated and then in person closer together rehearsals carefully scheduling the performers so that they mixed with no more than 6 at a time, then 10, then 15. We also specifically planned who met with who so that everyone became slowly and carefully accustomed to each other through the process
- The cast is all high school or adult community members so quarantining from the rest of the community was impractical as most everyone had a day job of sorts.
- We asked the cast to all sign covid policies where everyone realizes they take responsibility for the health and well being of the other members of their team. This way they avoid travel or dangerous situations. Everyone commits to following careful social distancing policies (ie. Masks, sanitizer, no large groups etc) being their rehearsal time. It has created an environment of trust and care for each other.
- Cast members were presented with our Covid plans prior to casting to make sure that they, and their families, felt comfortable with the policies.
- The tech people etc that all come at the end will all be masked and or shielded.
