The Upstage Players invites audiences to Pollyanna, presented at the Littleton Opera House on June 10,11,16,17, & 18. The musical very closely follows Porter’s original book and is a great opportunity for people of all ages to fall into the glad world of Pollyanna. This is a fantastic outing for the whole family.
Originally adapted for a production by the ETC in Plymouth, the show has since been performed across the country by different groups but never, until now, where it is set, in the “Glad Town” of Littleton NH. Book and lyrics by Trish Lindberg and music by Will Ogmundson. Additional music by Cynthia Bizzaro and Kenneth Roberts.
Pollyanna is a story that has delighted children for generations about a bright and joyous little girl able to see the good in everything and everyone. She shows the members of her family and the surrounding community how much more meaningful their lives can be if they can learn to be happy by playing “the glad game.” In the end, they do just the same for her.
Pollyanna is directed by Upstage Artistic Director, Andrew Lidestri, and choreographed by Madalyn Sheehy with musical direction by Alyssa Comeau. The cast will consist of some wonderful local talent including Anabel Boyer as Pollyanna and Courtney Vashaw as Aunt Polly. Additional cast members include Connor MacDonald, Alyssa Comeau, Andrew Lidestri, Cole Wennrich, David Weddington, Victoria Cole, Fran Day, Fran Lavoie, Jennifer Donovan, George Mitchell, Mark Roberts and Bill Mellekas. There is also a wonderful chorus of local talent rounding out the production.
Performances on June 10,16, & 17 will be at 7 pm with two matinee performance on June 11 & 18 at 2pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children for general admission seating.
