Theatre UP announces auditions for its spring 2024 youth production of Disney’s "The Lion King Jr!"
Auditions will be held at the Littleton Opera House Saturday, January 6th from 1 - 6 pm. Seeking actors ages 5-18 of all experience levels with an excitement for theatre!

We're so excited for the first official show from our Youth Division. This Junior show is produced by our Education Department and will feature only youth performers. Based on Disney's Broadway production of The Lion King, this slightly shortened version includes hits from the Disney movie like "Hakuna Matata" and "Can you Feel the Love Tonight?" as well as some of the wonderful tribal music written just for the stage. This show is perfect for families, kids, and adults alike. Come celebrate the bright colors and high energy of the Circle of Life.
"The Lion King Jr" will be directed by Madalyn Sheehy, with music direction by Marie Snyder. All roles are open. Full character breakdown is available on our website. The show will rehearse and perform at the Littleton Opera House. Rehearsals begin January 9th and will take place most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00PM. Performance dates are April 12, 13 & 14.
PARENT PRODUCTION HELP - If you would be interested in helping with rehearsals, please be on the lookout after auditions for an email from Director Madalyn Sheehy, who will share the different ways you may support the production team and cast as they prepare to make magic!
TECH AND PRODUCTION HELP - Any theatre lovers not interested in being on stage but interested in working with set crews, prop and tech production or costuming are encouraged to email us at [email protected]. UP is a welcoming community theatre excited to work with people of all levels of experience.
