No tap Experience? Been a long time? Feeling a little rusty? No problem!
We're offering a free audition prep class every Sunday morning (some holiday/production exceptions) starting Sunday September 19th. The class will be taught by Upstage choreographer Madalyn Sheehy and will be hosted at Creative Edge Dance Studio in Bethlehem. The class will be an hour. Depending on enrollment it may be two sections, one at 9 and one at 10 am. Show Info: 42nd Street is one of the classic tap dancing musicals of the 20th century. Most characters in the show do some amount of tap dancing though there are a few that don't. Upstage hopes to work with both experienced tap dancers and is also willing to train new tappers for the experience. This class is designed to give practice to those who've tapped before but also fast track newcomers with the steps and vocabulary you'll need to perform in a production this season. The show will rehearse Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as Sunday afternoons beginning in late February(some adjustments to schedule will be made for people with other dance commitments.). The show has mandatory tech days April 24-28 and performs April 29,30 and May 1,6,7,8. The show will not conflict with Creative Edge recital. This may not be the show for you however, if you are travelling for school April vacation. |
