ABOUT THE SHOW
This stirring musical depicts the hopes and aspirations of actual passengers on board the ill-fated ship, from the wealthy and powerful in first class, to the ambitious middle-class passengers, to the poor immigrants in steerage – all thrilled to be part of this historic voyage, hopeful for the future, and blissfully unaware of the tragedy ahead. Titanic the musical premiered on Broadway in April 1997, eight months before the well-known film. It went on to become a huge success, winning the Tony Award for Best Musical and thrilling audiences for its depiction of a defining moment in 20th-century history. The RMS Titanic was unlike any ship that had come before, a marvel of engineering and a powerful symbol of progress – until its deadly collision with an iceberg turned it into a representation of hubris and human frailty.

Community Theatre
UP is a community theatre that strives for excellence. Experience is not needed to audition or be cast in our productions, although some shows require specific skills. We often teach as we go. We are friendly and welcoming and want you to succeed, so please don't be nervous! We do not subscribe to favoritism and cast based solely on the best decisions for the production.
Titanic Character Breakdown
Titanic is an ENSEMBLE Show!
This means that almost all cast members will be doubling several parts. There are no small roles in Titanic in the sense that all cast members will be extremely busy at all times singing this beautiful score and portraying many characters. While there are certainly stand out moments, Titanic is not a show of starring roles but one of a team working to create the memory or the people about the famed ship. The Character Breakdown for Titanic shows characters and doublings but that might not be exactly how we end up breaking characters and assignments in the end.
