ABOUT THE SHOW
Sondheim's game-changing musical is a sophisticated and honest look at modern adult relationships.
On the night of his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor, Robert, contemplates his unmarried state. Over the course of a series of dinners, drinks and even a wedding, his friends present the pros and cons of taking on a spouse. The habitually single Robert is forced to question his adamant retention of bachelorhood during a hilarious array of interactions.
Company features an energetic score containing many of Stephen Sondheim's best known songs. Every audience member will see reflections of themselves in at least one of the characters onstage.
Company is the winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Lyrics and Best Book.

ABOUT BEING IN A SONDHEIM MUSICAL:
The Music in Company is quite challenging! It's one of the wonderful things about working on his shows! All are encouraged to audition but preference will be given to auditionees that fit the roles who ALSO have significant musicality. All the characters in the show have to hold their own harmonies against several other cast members in the choral sections. In fact, the callback will include a harmony exercise to allow us to see how quickly people pick up the music and can hold their own part.
What to Prepare
Auditioners are asked to prepare a short song they know well, preferably from musical theatre repertoire. Please bring sheet music. Singing with accompaniment is required, and an accompanist will be provided. Actors may be asked to read from the script.
